A rose…

I recently found this rose in the Village at Wexford shopping center and I decided to get “up close and personal” with it.  By zooming in for this closeup with my 24-70mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens I was able to capture a feeling/mood that I really like.  It seems dreamy and relaxed to me, with much more character than a full-bloom portrait of the flower would have shown.  The hand-held shot didn’t quite capture the sharpness I wanted, so I had planned to go back to photograph the flower using a tripod and a macro lens.  These best-laid plans didn’t get carried out, however, as I got busy with something else and the weather changed before I got back there.  So I’m waiting on another warm weather spell to find another bloom which I can use for this composition “experiment.”  I’ll be posting the result when I get it done.
