Heron Coming Back?

This great blue heron has been hanging around our small lakes for a couple of days now since the cold has abated a bit, and from time to time I’ve seen another GBH circling the lakes and dipping low overhead.  The second one hasn’t landed, at least not while I’ve been there to see it, but I’m hopeful that this is the second of the pair that had begun nest-building activity in our tall pine between the lakes.  I guess only time will tell, but for the time being I choose to be hopeful that they are again preparing to build a nest here in our neighborhood.  As usual, click on the picture to view a larger image.

Hope he will nest nearby. He’s a beauty.
