Red-Winged Blackbirds

On my morning walk today I chanced upon a flock of red-winged blackbirds feeding on the 15th tee of the George Fazio Golf Course here on the Island.  As I came along the path from the 11th green I saw what appeared to be the sentry, perched on a reed in the marsh between me and the huge flock, and I quickly captured the moment with my Canon Powershot ELPH 100HS point-and-shoot camera which I always carry with me.  I wish I could have captured the flock as it flew, showing the flashes of color on every wing, but the limitations of the P-and-S camera didn’t allow that shot.
