Snow Birds, Again

Moved in to Palmetto Dunes on January 1, ready for a pleasant 3-month stay away from the cold and bitter wind of Boone winters.  Finally unpacked, we awoke to a cold day here on the Island–32 degrees F!

Spirits were not dashed, however, as we recalled that Boone was probably much more uncomfortable.  And indeed it was, with 11 degrees F, big winds gusting to 45 mph, and light snow.

Still getting things settled so haven’t any new wildlife photos to show, but do have one report about our activities yesterday while the weather was still warm.  We met Nancy & Fred for lunch in Bluffton and then found a Kilwin’s  ice cream counter for dessert at the Tanger Outlet Center, just as if we had been in Blowing Rock on a beautiful spring day!

The ice cream on view is pistachio, BUT I am pretty sure that my roasted coconut was THE BEST!
